Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Spend Radar (the "app"), developed by Japps.ai, handles information when you use it.

Information We Collect / Do Not Collect

Spend Radar has no user accounts. Your cardholder name, spending limit, cycle-reset day, and any transactions you import by CSV, pasted text, or screenshot are stored only in your browser — we never collect or have access to any of it.

If you use the optional "Connect bank" feature, the following is handled differently:

• A bank-linking token and, after you log in through your bank's own screen, a Plaid access token are stored server-side (not in your browser), since that token is a live credential that has to persist between visits
• Transaction data returned by Plaid (date, merchant name, amount, account identifier) passes through this server-side component so it can be synced into the app

Your bank login credentials are entered directly into your bank's or Plaid's own screen and are never seen, transmitted to, or stored by Spend Radar or Japps.ai.

Local Storage / Backend Storage

Spend Radar uses your browser's local storage to save your settings and manually-imported transaction history between visits. This data never leaves your device unless you use the bank-connect feature. Clearing your browser data, or using the app's own "Clear all" control, will permanently delete it.

If you connect a bank account, a small backend (hosted on Vercel, using Plaid) stores the access token needed to keep syncing your transactions, along with a sync position marker. This is the only data Spend Radar keeps outside your own browser, and it exists solely to support the bank-sync feature you opted into.

Third-Party Services

The optional "paste a screenshot" import feature sends the pasted image directly from your browser to Anthropic's API to extract transaction rows as text. If you use CSV upload or paste-text import instead, no data ever leaves your device. If you choose to enter your own Anthropic API key in Settings so the feature works once this app is hosted on its own site, that key is stored only in your browser's local storage and is sent solely to Anthropic's API, never to Japps.ai.

The optional "Connect bank" feature uses Plaid to link your bank account and retrieve transactions. Your bank credentials are entered on your bank's or Plaid's own screen and are never visible to Spend Radar. Plaid's own privacy policy governs how they handle that linking process; the transaction data Plaid returns is stored only by the small backend this app runs to support the sync feature, as described above.

Children's Privacy

Spend Radar is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from minors.

Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy is updated, the new version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date. Continued use after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
